Chocolate-covered February

February is a special time in Hershey, dedicated to celebrating what it’s best known for - chocolate. During Chocolate-Covered February, things get even sweeter with hundreds of chocolate-themed events, tastings and activities.

Here are a few highlights that are new this year:

The new Cocoa Facial Experience - New this February.
Have you ever had a bath or body product that smelled good enough to eat? It’s a commonly heard quip at the Spa at The Hotel Hershey. The Whipped Cocoa Bath and cocoa massage scents smell so much like the real deal that guests wished to taste them! Now, The Spa At The Hotel Hershey offers an edible chocolate product as part of its Cocoa Facial Experience. A truly unique experience, this is not only a first for the Chocolate Spa, but the only place the product is sold within North America.

Your decadent treatment begins as soon as you arrive. Change into your cozy robe and settle into the Quiet Room, Aromatherapy Room or Silent room. Grab a coffee, tea or lemon-infused water and snack on milk or dark chocolate KISSES.

If you can only splurge on one service, I always recommend the Cocoa Facial Experience because it’s a wonderful blend of pampering. They begin the treatment with a foot soak and hair brushing. From there, under the covers you go onto the heated bed. You’ll be treated to scalp, neck, arm and hand massages in addition to your facial treatment. You’ll be cleansed and scrubbed. Finally, just as you’re about to doze off from the pampering, it’s time for the edible dark chocolate masque. It’s first painted on to your lips (take a lick) for a sample before being brushed over the face. The mask is removed using a small baker’s-style spatula and a warm towel. You’ll feel like you’re baking brownies. Finally, your skin is set with a protective tinted moisturizer for a cocoa-kissed look and a chocolate scented lip balm. I like to make the most of my visit and return to one of the relaxation rooms to read or rest.

The Cocoa Facial Experience lasts 75 minutes and costs $165 Mondays through Thursdays and $170 Fridays through Sundays.

Every Friday, The Hotel Hershey will host a unique dessert experience, pairing miniature cupcakes and cocktails - a sweet treat!

Chocolate-Covered Tapas Party
On Saturday, Feb. 25, you can enjoy chocolate-infused small plates paired with a variety of cocktails, from wine and beer to a mojito station. Live music will set the tone for a fun-filled, delicious evening. Tickets are $39 and include complimentary valet parking.
