Welcome to Tomah, the crossroads of West-Central Wisconsin! Located at the intersection of I-90 and I-94, Tomah is more than just a midway point between the Twin Cities and Milwaukee. Visitors will find plenty of small town charm, but also plenty of options for dining, accomadations and entertainment, from summer festivals to winter sports.
Look for arts and crafts fairs in the spring and summer, or relax in one of the ten Tomah parks, which together create over 200 acres of green space, including the new Lemonweir River Walking Trail. Put together the parks cover as much ground as all of Lake Tomah, a favorite spot for fishing, boating and other water activities. In the fall, enjoy Tomah's autumn colors and discover Tomah's reputation as Wisconsin's Cranberry Country. Visitors to the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center can tour a cranberry bog and taste the test kitchen's latest great cranberry products, which are offered for sale at the gift shop. And in the winter, Tomah is a great place for snow sports! Monroe County offers 270 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Or visit Fort McCoy’s Whitetail Ridge Recreation Area, which offers downhill skiing, snow tubing, snowboarding, and five miles of cross-country skiing.
South and west of Tomah, don't be surprised to encounter horse-drawn buggies or quilts drying on clotheslines. The Tomah Convention and Visitor's Bureau offers a self-guided driving tour of Amish country. You'll find a number of shops selling Amish-made furniture, baskets, rugs, and many other beautiful items.
