WILLIAMSBURG, VA

In Williamsburg, VA, what's old is new again. The Historic Triangle of Virgina—Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown—is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Its winning combination of famed historical sites and adventure parks offer something to interest and delight all ages! The options are endless, and returning visitors will always find something new to enjoy.

Colonial Williamsburg, the faithfully restored capital of colonial Virginia, is the world's largest living history museum. Made up of 301 acres of restored, reconstructed, and historically furnished buildings, costumed interpreters tell the stories and explain the lifestyles of the men and women who lived here in the 18th century. Explore the town, including 90 acres of gardens and greens, and watch the movement for American independence begin to unfold in the live action drama, Revolutionary City, daily from March through the holiday season.

Fast forward to the end of the Revolutionary War to see where American independence was won at the Yorktown Battlefield.  Explore the field and the 18th-century town on a guided walking tour. Look for cannons and fortifications; the Moore House, in which the surrender was negotiated; and even General Washington's field tents, on exhibit at the Visitor Center.

At the third point of the Historic Triangle, explore Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America. Founded in 1607, and at one point the capital of Virginia, the town is now preserved at Historic Jamestowne by the National Park Service. After perusing the indoor exhibits, visitors can board replicas of the three ships that brought the first settlers, try on armor in the colonial fort, or take part in activities Pocahontas would have helped with as a child.

At Busch Gardens Williamsburg, visitors are invited to explore six European-themed countries full of adventure and incredible experiences. The Loch Ness Monster roller coaster has celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2008 and is still as thrilling as ever—but there are also new thrills to be had, including the world's tallest dive coaster, Griffon! But also come prepared to be dazzled by the park's nine mainstage shows, varying from animal antics to award-winning musical performances.
