KERRVILLE, TX

KERRVILLE WELCOMES YOU TO

LOSE YOUR HEART TO THE HILLS…

Kerrville, a one-hour drive from San Antonio, is the seat of Kerr County and one of Texas’ most popular escape destinations. Situated in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Kerrville attracts visitors from all over the United States and the world.

Something about the Texas Hill Country captures the heart of everyone who experiences it: the rugged terrain and rolling hills of the Guadalupe River Valley; clear rivers edged by towering cypress trees; a mild climate touted as one of the nation’s most ideal; an abundance of white-tailed deer, rare birds, and wildflowers; music, craftsmen, cowboys. In a phrase, there is something for everyone in this Hill Country paradise.

Aside from its natural setting, Kerrville boasts an array of attractions and events. You can do as much or a little as you choose. Kerrville offers a variety of arts galleries, museums and shops. Attractions include James Avery Craftsman, the Hill Country Museum, the Museum of Western Art, Riverside Nature Center, the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center and Stonehenge II.

When it comes to activity, visitors can saddle up and try their skill at horseback riding; or enjoy a game of golf at the Scott Schreiner Golf Course or tennis at the HEB Tennis Center; experience photography, bird watching and scenic drives. With over 500 acres and river front access enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, biking, hiking and camping all at Kerrville-Schreiner Park.

In additions to all that outdoor fun, Kerrville offers an array of festivals and events to enjoy. The Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair, officially endorsed by the State of Texas, showcases the jury-selected works of more than 200 of Texas’ finest artists and crafters; held annually at the River Star Event Park on Memorial Day Weekend, Friday through Monday.

With 18 days of outdoor music concerts, the Kerrville Folk Festival draws performers and audiences from around the world. Beginning the Thursday before Memorial Day, the festival is held annually at the Quiet Valley Ranch south of Kerrville.

The Museum of Western Art, houses works by the nation’s most distinguished living artists following the tradition of Remington and Russell in depicting the Old West. The rotating collection includes works by Joe Beeler, James Boren and others.

The multi-million dollar operation of gold and silversmith James Avery Craftsman, Inc. sprawls over a hilltop north of town. Much of the jewelry bears the mark of the Hill Country environment – bluebonnets, hummingbirds and even rangy Longhorns.

Spanning 50 square miles, the legendary Y.O. Ranch contains one of the nation’s largest registered herds of longhorn cattle. Also roaming the range are zebras, giraffes, antelope and more than 36 other exotic species to be spotted on a guide ranch tour.

Come stay in Kerrville a perfect relaxing get away and see how easy it is to lose your heart to the hills.
