SEVIERVILLE, TN

Autumn leaves will soon be changing and ample summer rain showers promise brilliant fall colors in Sevierville, Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains this year.

Those visiting will find a variety of autumnal themed events taking place during Smoky Mountain Harvest Fest (through October 31). Many Harvest Festival events celebrate the season as well as popular and mountain culture against a backdrop of fall color. Events like Robert Tino’s Smoky Mountain Homecoming (Oct. 2-3) focus on the craftsman heritage of these mountains and nearby Dollywood is also a must-see with thrill rides, mountain music, craftsmen and harvest foods like pumpkin bread and hot apple cider.

For those set on spending a day (or more) leaf looking, there are ample ways to enjoy the color. Take a scenic drive on Sevierville’s back roads like Hwy 411 North and enjoy quaint attractions like Forbidden Caverns and great dining spots like Clint’s BBQ & Country Cooking along the way. Or cruise through Great Smoky Mountains National Park for amazing views and spectacular mountain hiking. Another great way to see the leaves is by taking to the sky with Scenic Helicopter Tours. Fly over the mountains, the lake and the foothills to see spectacular views of fall foliage from above.
And don’t forget the shopping! Sevierville is famous for its shopping – from high end outlets to treasure filled flea markets and everything in between. Of course, while you’re shopping you can still enjoy the beauty of Harvest Festival, since even storefronts are filled with harvest decorations. Businesses throughout Sevierville put out giant scarecrows, overflowing pumpkin displays and colorful floral arrangements…providing plenty of opportunities for fun photos with family and friends.

After a day of autumn adventures, put up your feet and relax at one of Sevierville’s year-round indoor water park resorts, cozy cabins, convenient hotels, luxurious condos or amenity-packed campgrounds. Sevierville offers the newest and nicest accommodations at affordable prices and are convenient to everything in the Smoky Mountain area, including Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN.

Peak leaf-viewing times in Sevierville and the Great Smoky Mountains are typically between mid-October and mid-November and visitors can call ahead to 1-888-SEVIERVILLE (738-4378) for a report on the current leaf viewing conditions Monday – Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
