CONCORD, NH

The Capital Region offers you enough things to do and see that you could easily spend a lifetime here. Antiques, skiing, hiking, wildlife, canoeing, arts, crafts, museums, historic sites, walking tours, farms, orchards, boating, golf, athletics, dances, country fairs, community suppers, youth activities and four beautiful seasons are part of the many features that enhance the quality of life in the area. Concord's downtown is healthy and vibrant. The successful turnaround of a fading Main Street into an active hub of community activities, commerce, politics and entertainment was the result of mutual support by the city, businesses and the community. One of the anchors to New Hampshire's revitalized downtown is a State House crowned by a gleaming gold, eagle-topped dome which can't be missed by motorists passing through on I-93. The major restoration project to house the 1,360-seat Capitol Center for the Arts continues to enjoy tremendous success. The center offers a venue for both nationally- and internationally acclaimed performers as well as local performers. Other cultural sites include the Museum of New Hampshire History, Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, Pierce Manse, Concord City Auditorium and the Kimball-Jenkins Estate. Other nearby cultural opportunities include Canterbury Shaker Village in Canterbury, the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium here in Concord and the Gould Hill Apple Orchard in Hopkinton, all of which are not mere attractions but learning experiences.
