CORINTH, MS

Corinth, Mississippi has an abundance of attractions to meet the interests of the most discerning traveler. When one thinks of Corinth’s appeal, the mind immediately goes to the Civil War, railroads, and rich cultural heritage.Visits to any of Corinth’s five museums – the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center, the Crossroads Museum in the Historic Corinth Depot, the Coca-Cola Museum, the Black History Museum, and the Verandah-Curlee House – can enlighten and educate guests about every facet of the town’s history. A Civil War trail and an Architectural Tour, which can be walked or driven, may also be enjoyed. For a step back in time, settle onto a stool at Borroum’s Drug Store and Soda Fountain.  Order a cherry coke or chocolate malt.  You won’t be sorry!

The motto of the Convention & Visitors Bureau is, “History is only half our story.” With that in mind, we want to tell the rest.  Corinth has a wonderful downtown district with an art gallery, quaint restaurants, tree-lined streets, and great shopping opportunities.  Other shops may be found spread throughout the rest of the town. From antiques, books, folk art, or even motorcycles, consider taking something home as a souvenir! Entertainment is also a part of our story.  On any given week, you may find a Bluegrass Pickin’ on Court Square, a Symphony in the Corinth Coliseum, Monster Trucks at the Crossroads Arena, or a play at the Crossroads Playhouse.  Festivals are a fun respite.  The Corinth Area boasts at least six a year – the Crossroads Festival and Regional Chili Cook-Off; the Fourth of July Celebration at Jacinto Courthouse; the Slugburger Festival; Farmington Heritage Day; Hog Wild in Corinth Barbeque Festival; and Historic Corinth’s Grand Illumination.  Check out the calendar events at www.corinth.net for dates and details.  When looking at our festivals, it becomes apparent that food is the center of Corinth’s appeal.  Signature delights include slug burgers, hot tamales, barbeque, and the traditional Southern “meat and three.”  You will definitely not leave town hungry!  Another part of the story is outdoor recreation. Corinth’s City Park has a walking track, a play station, tennis courts and numerous ball fields.  Two scenic golf courses also fit nicely into the landscape.  Venture into the small towns surrounding Corinth to find “you-pick-‘em” farms, an equestrian center, a shooting range, a buffalo ranch, and a historic Federal-style Courthouse.  These are only an example of all the great opportunities that our area has to offer.

What is your story? Tell us and we will help you write the next chapter!
