Guidant John Rose MN OVAL
The Guidant John Rose MN OVAL, located at the Roseville Skating Center, is North America's largest sheet of refrigerated ice and a picturesque winter recreation destination. The OVAL is a 400 meter speed skating track surrounding an infield area consisting of four hockey rinks. The 800 ton refrigeration system allows the OVAL to maintain ice from early November to early March. The OVAL hosts a variety of ice sports including speed skating, hockey, bandy and general recreational skating. The OVAL also is home to one of the Midwest's largest aggressive skate parks, inline skating and inline speed skating races from May to September.
Events
Roseville offers a wide array events year round. In the winter, “come have a blast” at Roseville Winter Jazz Blast. Held at Northwestern College, the Roseville Winter Jazz Blast offers a positive and educational experience for middle and high school students. Winter also brings Roseville Glows, the holiday lighting program with over 115,000 white lights which decorates the Guidant John Rose MN OVAL and Roseville City Hall Campus. Summertime fun takes place during Rosefest. This weeklong festival includes the famous Rosefest Parade, one of the largest parades in Minnesota. Fall brings the annual Roseville Wild Rice Festival, a festival of wild rice and Native American culture. Whatever the season, there is also something exciting happening in Roseville.
