Leech Lake, one of Minnesota’s largest, is surrounded by many smaller lakes and located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. The Leech Lake Area also offers many festivals throughout the year. In February the International Eelpout Festival bring Ice fisherman from many states to Leech Lake for a weekend adventure of fishing for Eelpout. The downtown businesses are known for the quant gift shops and for the Crazy Days that are offer each month through the summer.

Whether you are a Country Music Fan or a Classic Rock Fan there is the perfect festival for you at Moondance, the Country Jam is in June and Moondance Jam is in July. August brings the Walker Bay Days festivities to City Park and on the water you can view the Leech Lake Regatta. For almost 20 years Walker has been the home of the Ethnic Feast. Outdoor stages and vendors fill the downtown area and music is abounding everywhere. The year wraps up with the Festival of Light that welcome the coming Holiday season with the Arrival of Santa and thousands of lights shining in the City Park.
