NEGRIL, Named after Negrillo in 1494 by the Spanish, Negril has little historic knowledge of itself except for the fact that it has been a haven for shipping ever since it’s discovery. After the Vietnam War during the 60s and 70s flocks of veterans and college kids gravitated to Negril where they increased in number. On the western side of Jamaica, extending from the Negril Lighthouse at Negril Point all the way to Bloody Bay in Parish of Hanover is the city of Negril.
