 CAVE CITY, KY “We Create Memories to Last a Lifetime” Cave City is located on the I-65 Corridor, halfway between Louisville and Nashville. Cave City has served as the main “gateway” into Mammoth Cave National Park, just five miles west of Exit 53.
Mammoth Cave is the second oldest tourist attraction in the United States and boasts the longest cave system in the world with over 365 miles of continuous passageways. Mammoth Cave is great to visit anytime during the year with its constant 54 degree Fahrenheit temperature; it is warm in the winter and cool in the summer.  The “gateway” into Mammoth Cave National Park includes many family-friendly attractions that provide edutainment for all ages. With over 100 life-size dinosaurs at Dinosaur World, gunfights and wild west shootouts at Guntown Mountain, a glimpse of historical figures at the Mammoth Cave Wax Museum, to the downhill thrill of Kentucky’s only Alpine Slide at Kentucky Action Park.
If you are an adventurer, try riding horses along scenic trails at Jesse James Riding Stables. Water activities you’re thing? Then try canoeing or kayaking with Green River Canoe or Mammoth Cave Canoe and Kayak. Lover of the underground? Then enjoy a tour of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites at either Onyx Cave or Outlaw Cave.
If your family is into wildlife, check out Kentucky’s first and largest outstanding wildlife museum at Mammoth Cave Wildlife Museum with over 1,600 animals on display from butterflies to the rare Snow Leopard.
