WOODSTOCK, NB

New Brunswick's First Town, Woodstock was incorporated in 1856, the first among New Brunswick's current towns in the province to gain municipal status.  Woodstock reflects its Victorian heritage in many fine 19th Century homes, churches and civic buildings.  An example is the L.P. Fisher Public Library, which is still in use of its original intent by the first mayor, Lewis Peter Fisher.

Woodstock is located in the heart of the St. John River Valley, at two key junctions. Woodstock is the first town for visitors entering New Brunswick from the United States on I-95.  Woodstock is accessible from Exit 12 from I-95 and Exits 191, 188 and 185 from Trans Canada Highway, Route 2.

The Meduxnekeag River joins the St. John River in downtown Woodstock, offering visitors and residents alike easy access to the ecologically rich Meduxnekeag Valley and the 80-kilometre long recreational waterway of the St. John River. Enjoy walking the trails along both of the river systems on the greenway downtown. Benches and picnic areas are available along the trail, to rest and reflect the beauty of nature.

Woodstock is home to great shopping, whether it is Downtown, Connell Street or Houlton Street, There are many great shops to visit.  Woodstock is known as the "service centre of the valley'', with everything from dentists to accountants, car repairs to window decor, department stores to gift ware, you can find it all in Woodstock.
