FREDERICTON, NB

Choice is the word when it comes to planning your vacation in Fredericton.

Our vibrant culture is on display at top-notch art galleries, heritage museums, historic districts, concerts, and theatre. Help inspect the Guard in the Historic Garrison District. Explore the majestic St. John River by canoe or kayak. Make your way along 85kms of riverfront trails on a bike rented from the Lighthouse on the Green.

Play a round of golf on a world-class championship course at Kingswood or enjoy a day at a local spa, then play hard at night with live bands in the Tannery Entertainment District. There's lots of fun for families too, including cool hands-on experiences at Science East, New Brunswick's only Science Centre or a day at the beach at Killarney Lake or Mactaquac Provincial Park.

Be active or slow down and relax...the choice is yours.

Fredericton is rich with heritage and culture with many attractions, historic and heritage sites, festivals and special events.

History comes alive at several museums and national historic sites including the Historic Garrison District, Kings Landing Historical Settlement, beautifully restored Government House and York Sunbury Historic Museum.

Enjoy cultural gems like The Beaverbrook Art Gallery and many fine art galleries, live theatre at the Playhouse, outdoor summer theatre, and unique craft and antique shops.

The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is internationally known for its outstanding collection of British paintings from the Elizabethan era to the modern period and for its Dali, Krieghoff and Gainsborough collections. The Gift shop sells art related cards, posters, post cards, books and gifts.

Kings Landing Historical Settlement brings the 19th century vibrantly to life with guided tours, theatre performances, heritage dining and 170 people in period costume. Each day during the summer, visitors are treated to a full range of demonstrations and activities. A variety of special events take place throughout the season, which include special weekends, workshops and Theatre in the Barn.

Go back in time on a free guided tour of the Vice-Regal residence featuring magnificent architecture, period New Brunswick furniture, and current art pieces in elegant public rooms. The 11 acre site was once part of the 17th century Acadian settlement known as Sainte-Anne.

During today's busy times, taking the time to be together with family is more important than ever. Create memorable moments with your family in Fredericton.

There's fun in the sun with fresh water beaches, outdoor wading pools, waterslides and mini golf. See the city from the water on a kayak or rent bikes for the whole gang to explore the miles of  trails.

Sign up and see what it was like to be soldier in the Garrison District or sit back and watch some outdoor theatre in the park, or story telling.

Take the fun indoors at Science East, New Brunswick's only science centre, or Kingswood Entertainment Centre with cosmic bowling, gymnastics, lazer tag, and indoor skating all under one roof.

For the budding artist in the family, there are craft and art workshops and day camps, or you can paint your own pottery at Clay Cafe.
