MORDEN, MB

Come to Morden, the place where vacation memories are born! There’s so much to do and see and explore that the amount of adventures to be had and discoveries to be made is limitless!

A definite event to go to would be the Corn and Apple Festival where the entire family can enjoy a day filled with fun, family and unforgettable food. There’s the Main and Old Tyme Music Stages for the grownups while the whole family can enjoy the Wonder Shows Midway parade, the shopping opportunities from the countless vendor displays and the farmers market. And don’t forget to go mud racing and indulge in some free corn and apple cider. Another festival to attend is the Back Forty Festival which features local musicians keeping “homemade music alive” in southern Manitoba. Hosted in Morden Park the firs Sunday in June, the festival consists of a colorful array of musicians from all over Manitoba. In addition, there’s a craft village and various other children’s activities stationed around the festival -- including Morden’s Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre. And lastly, arguably the most prominent festival to the community of Morden would have to be the Morden Festival of the Arts which evolved into one of the largest festivals in the province. The festival’s focus is to hone, promote, growth and enhancement of artistic talents. You can catch the festival every year through March and April.

The Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame is a must-see as well. Located in the foyer of the Morden Recreation Center at 2nd and Gilmour Streets the hall features memorabilia related to the inductees, the fans and the many who play or have played. Visit the hall and walk through teams, players, coaches and officials of baseball’s past and present. Some memorabilia dates all the way back to the 1900s!

Another must-see would definitely be the Pembina Threshermen’s Museum. The museum. Learn about the steam engines of the past. The museum also includes the Morden CPR Station (est. 1905), the Roseisle United Church, the Pomeroy School and the Braun log house.
